A list of terms and acronyms that you can come across while reading these rules:
Character - a role-play character, controlled by a player.
Player/writer – a real-life member of Potter RP
Meta gaming – The act of having a character base decisions on information or talk about things the player have found out through OOC means.
Power gaming/God modding – The act of taking control of other people’s characters, controlling other people’s actions, or playing an “invincible” person.
IC – In Character
OOC – Out of Character
RP – Roleplay

General Rules
We expect all members of Potter RP to follow and abide the following code of conduct in order to create an enjoyable environment for people to role-play in. Breaking these rules will result in having your account BANNED.
- Discrimination or prejudice of any kind is not allowed. (unless roleplayed IC) Derogatory actions and language towards other players or in general. This includes harassment, abusive behavior, trolling and racial, sexist, religious, ethnic or political remarks. This is not tolerable for obvious reasons.
- Pornographic content or cybering is not allowed (sexual role-play). Do note that relationships are allowed to a certain degree. Anything beyond what you would, “see on the street” (kissing, holding hands) is however off-limits.
- Swearing is strongly discouraged. Excessive and unnecessary swearing is not allowed.
- You will not impersonate another writer.
- Keep political, religious, social, etc. debates on real-life issues in the Out-of-Character general discussion board.
- Any illegal behavior is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to fraud, mail bombing, denial of service attacks, storing or linking to illegal content. This counts for both committing such acts and/or promoting them.
- Promoting products is highly discouraged and requires Administrator approval to happen.
- Plagiarism is not allowed.
- It is expected that you keep your posts constructive and on the topic your post is in.
- No forms of spam is allowed.
- Members or Staff of any kind should never post or request any personal information from other players. Any who post or gather such things will be BANNED. No exceptions, we would like to keep this forum as perv free as possible.
- Do not try to find a way around these rules. The Administrators of this site keep the right to ban any player that breaks these rules, offenses close to these or for other currently unthinkable acts. Use common sense when posting. Ask an Admin if uncertain.
Miscellaneous Notes/Guidelines
- Remember that all roleplay boards should be reserved for roleplay. Questions and ooc player interaction is reserved for the discussion boards.
