Distinguishing features: His thick white hair and wild-growing beard, as well as his large nose are some of the more apparent features of his. Other than this, Balthazar is visibly old. However, despite his wrinkles he exudes an aura of youth and guarded wisdom due to his personality.
Clothing style: Balthazar wears a pair of frail looking spectacles and an array of fine, long, majestic robes in a multitude of bright colors. He is also very fond of slippers, but usually wear expertly crafted leather shoes that he shines often. On his left wrist an old silver wristwatch can be seen, gifted by a group of Goblins after he helped them navigate out of a Norwegian forest. The watch got an extra hand that always points towards the home of the wearer.
Personality
Positive traits: Balthazar is kind and tolerant, as well as very sharp witted and willing to learn. From childhood he have been curious and have always been in pursuit of knowledge. He appreciates the wonders of life, magical and non-magical alike and have in his older years begun taking a lot more time to enjoy those moments.
Negative traits: Despite being kind and tolerant, Balthazar can easily be seen as an enigmatic person. He holds his cards close at heart and seldom shares his inner thoughts and whenever finally shared, they’re often shared through riddles and puzzles. He is very competitive at heart, especially when it comes to pursuit of knowledge, but as he have become an exceptional wizard in his older years, this tendency is not as visible as it was when he attended Hogwarts, though it still shines through when spectating Quidditch games.
Pet peeves: Picky eaters, improper spell-casting techniques, impatient folk.
Mannerisms/bad habits: Rushed handwriting, smokes pipe when pondering on complicated subjects and he often forgets to reset his grandfather clock.

Biography
Otho Balthazar was born and raised in a small wizarding community known simply as Bucket. For centuries it had been inhabited by Goblin smiths and from an early age Balthazar learned to interact with the mysterious race, even learning Gobbledegook early on in his life. His mother, Laima had moved to the village shortly after getting pregnant with Balthazar. At first his muggle father – George - had a hard time adjusting in their new surroundings. Despite this, their life was peaceful and in good company despite the few occasions of drama that was certain to arise with Goblins and Wizard-folk living so closely together. They eventually moved out of the village during Balthazar’s fifth year at Hogwarts and bought land on the Scottish country side.
It took a long time before Balthazar showed any signs of magic, the letter from Hogwarts proving a relief to his mother and their families friends. He was sorted into Ravenclaw (his mother a Hufflepuff) and soon displayed amazing feats of magic, quickly being known as one of the brightest wizards in his year. During his time at Hogwarts he earned multiple awards such as the esteemed Telephus Terrific Transfiguration award, the Baranbus Finkley Prize for Exceptional Spell-Casting as well as being declared an “Exceptionally Promising Student” by the Magical Theory Magistrate Association. During his fifth year he became a Prefect and in his seventh Head Boy of Ravenclaw. Throughout his time at Hogwarts Balthazar also attempted Quidditch, a sport that he loved dearly. However, he was barely able to fly a broom and for that reason was never chosen to represent his house on the field. A fact that saddened him tremendously. Nevertheless, he never lost his excitement for the sport and to this day is a prominent member of the Birmingham Senior Quidditch Society, watching games with his fellow members.
Balthazar earned outstanding remarks in all his NEWTs and after his seventh year used a number of years to travel the globe to experience other magical cultures. During this time he published a significant number of papers in Arithmancy, Charms, Magical Theory and Transfiguration. He returned to England elven years later as his Father fell terribly ill, after formulating and publishing the equation on Conjuration Duration with his partner Ali Khwarizmi, a prominent Egyptian scholar he befriended during his stay in the country. Many years after the death of his father he returned briefly to Egypt to meet with his friend. During his stay an attempt on Balthazars life was made after he had accidently provoked a group of prominent scholars during an argument. After the violent duel that had ensued ended, Balthazar left Egypt to never return. As a result of this Balthazar became a lot more introverted and decided to dwell on his studies in solitude.
He became a professor of Magical Theory and later Charms at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in his late life , thereby leaving the seat at the Wizengamot that he had been granted earlier in his life. Years later, he took on the role as Headmaster of Hogwarts.
